The medical team of Fisher Family Practice work together in a harmonious and collegial manner, which results in a lot of laughs in the tea room and great peer support.  As a teaching practice, the supervisors of Fisher Family Practice help guide new and experienced registrars as they learn the profession of General Practice.  All of our doctors are passionate about quality primary care.  They fully believe that general practice is the cornerstone to healthcare in Australia.

Dr Anne-Marie Svoboda completed her medical degree at UNSW and obtained her FRACGP in 1996.  She also has a certificate of Family Planning and a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Medicine (Monash).  Her special interests are Women's and Children's Health, Geriatrics, General Medicine and minor procedures.  Dr Anne-Marie Svoboda is our Senior Medical Advisor. 
Dr Kalum Ratnaike joined Fisher Family Practice soon after she moved to Canberra from the UK in 2007.  She completed her medical degree at Guy's and St Thomas' School of Medicine in London and her postgraduate qualifications in London.  Dr Ratnaike has a particular interest in family medicine.  She is also a supervisor to General Practice Registrars, along with Dr Liedvogel and Dr Svoboda.
Dr Martin Liedvogel completed his medical degree in Newcastle, Australia. He spent five years working in hospital in the area of internal medicine before specialising in General Practice.  Dr Liedvogel has special interests in chronic disease management, especially in the area of diabetes and heart disease, and also minor procedures.  Dr Liedvogel is the Practice  Principal of Fisher Family Practice.

Dr Raphael Wong returns to Canberra after completing general practice training in rural NSW.  He obtained his medical degree with honours in 2011 at ANU.  Dr Wong has diverse interests in general medicine, minor procedures, paediatrics, sexual and reproductive health, and skin cancer medicine.  He also has involvement with teaching at ANU and GP Synergy.
Dr Catherine Horan has been a registrar at Fisher Family Practice for a number of years, and we are delighted that she was awarded the Fellowship of the RACGP mid-2018.  She has a broad range of interests, including women's health and family medicine.  Catherine will now be staying at Fisher Family Practice as a permanent GP.  
Dr John Howe has completed his studies through the University of Sydney, and spent many years working for the Air Force before becoming a GP in Woden. He joined Fisher Family Practice in 2008.  Dr Howe was awarded the medal of the Order of Australia for services to Medicine as General Practitioner in 2009.

Dr Lucia Wong has worked at Fisher Family Practice for many years and consults on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. 
Dr Ben Harkness will be on overseas sabbatical from late 2018.  We hope to see Ben from time to time when he returns to Australia to do some locum visits. 
Dr Rachel Dash is a GP Registrar who joined Fisher Family Practice in August 2018.  Rachel has had many years experience in internal medicine prior to settling on general practice as her career of choice.

Dr Stephanie Dakin is a general practice registrar and has worked at Fisher Family Practice since February 2018 while she completes her training.   Steph has a special interest in the role of nutrition in health.   
Dr Lewis Ryan is a general practice registrar in the final stages of training and joined Fisher Family Practice in February 2018.  
Dr Sarah Brownstein is a new General Practice Registrar and joins Fisher Family Practice in February 2019.  Sarah has extensive previous experience on the physician training program.    
Our practice nurses are fabulous.  From supporting the GPs in their work, to seeing their own patients for immunisations or chronic disease management, the nursing team at Fisher Family Practice is sure to be there with a smile and a helping hand.  Our practice engages registered nurses in their practice team, and the nurses run their own clinic.  Practice nursing makes general practice better!

Louise joined Fisher Family Practice in January 2018.  Louise became a registered nurse in 2016 after studying nutritional science.  Louise has an interest in chronic disease management and team care arrangements, and supporting patients to meet their health goals.  She also manages our diabetes program.  Louise is particularly quick with doing vaccinations!   
Gina joined Fisher Family Practice in 2017 after her former role as a community outreach nurse in New Zealand.  Gina has an interest in child and maternal health, and also runs our Coordinated Veteran's Care program.  She also works extensively with our elderly patient population through our annual health assessments for patients aged 75 and above.  
I think everyone would agree that quality administration team members can really make a difference to the feel and function of any workplace.  We love our admin staff at Fisher Family Practice.  They are great at what they do, and they truly care for our patients.  When you speak to our admin team, you know you are in good hands.
